| PAY IT EPHWARD silent auction! | From: Rahul Nath '15 Posted: Friday February 17 |
The Winter season is almost over, but the giving season is not! Show off your unique talents and good heart by participating in “Pay it Ephward”, an auction brought to you by the Frosh Council where people have the opportunity to bid money for your talents and deeds while raising money for charity!
The charity that we are supporting is the Berkshire Food Project, which provides free lunches for the the homeless in North Adams and has been running a tight budget in recent months.
Teach someone something new or offer your services, whether that involves teaching someone to juggle, doing laundry for a fellow Eph for two weeks, or taking someone to Chipotle in Albany for lunch. Be creative! The top 3 earners will get a dinner for two paid in full (Up to $50) to the restaurant of their choice in Williamstown.
A couple of commonsense rules: Your “services” cannot be anything sexual in nature (get your minds out of the gutter my friends) and cannot jeopardize academic integrity, such as doing homework for someone else. Other than that, you can go wonkers! Think of something people would want even if it’ll only shell out a couple of bucks; the aggregate sum will make it worth it!
Sign ups are from 11am-2pm everyday for the next week in Paresky and you can keep track of what’s being offered on the thread in the Discussions tab. If you can’t find yourself signing up in Paresky, shoot me an email (unix rn2) giving your name, your class year, and a short description of your deed and we will have it approved and added to the thread on the Discussions tab. The deeds must be fulfilled within a month of the auction so please only sign up if you are absolutely sure that you can make your service happen within that time period (by March 26th).
The auction will take place on Sunday February 26, 2012 in Baxter Hall from 3pm to 5pm and people will be able to bid “silent auction” style where you simply place your dollar amount on the piece of paper alongside the deed you wish to bid for.
Do something good for a stranger in the community, impress your significant other, save the whales, and raise money for charity!
