Hello hello,

New photos hot off the photoshop (complete with random stories!)

Weeny Jam (Snowboard and Ski Terrain Park Awesomeness)

Crazy, crazy stuff. Crazy people doing crazy stuff. And a few thousand hot dogs. And palm trees….lots of palm trees. Highlights: backflip hand plants, lying in the pit of the jump as people flew over me, tackling said ubiquitous palm trees. I only edited a few photos since I’m busy/lazy.

Theatre 101: Spotlight

I met with Omar a few moments before the performance. Me: “Hey Omar, you know it’s a terrible idea for me to take photos during the performance. My camera is way too noisy, and it’ll distract the audience from the show. Omar: “You are part of the show.” Me: brain explodes I get there, and, lo and behold, my name is on the list of performers. So, I played an arrogant photographer and screamed at the audience. Later, telling this to Sarah Fink, she says, “Arrogant photographer? That was acting?” Deep burn.

Symphonic Winds

Normally, classical music performances are a pain to shoot. You have to be quiet (shoot only when it gets loud!) and hide in the back of a house like an art sniper. Sometimes, though, you get lucky and you get to shoot a full dress rehearsal. The photos are a lot better and you get to jump around like a monkey. Noah Lindquist requested that I shoot on the beat, which I was happy to accommodate. Watching the conductor, I felt like a real musician. Someday I’ll get my wish, and David Kechley will compose for the click of a shutter. Oh, and I haven’t finished editing the performance images—soon, though.
