The College Council met for the second time this year in the more traditionally arranged classroom (Griffin 4), reminiscent of the rectangular layout of Greylock C, having moved from the hierarchical Star Trek Bridge room (Griffin 7). The technological Supershow ala Bell included the agenda projected on the screen, and with a little help from Bert LeatherMac, we timed the talking of the new Homepage with actually bringing up the College Council Homepage http://wso.williams.edu/cc. The sound system is equally arresting, as several "meeps" frightened the masses before I was able tame the noisy beast. Onward we marched into making mention of Kaiva Klimanis, winner of the Grosvenor award for her large community service output. Bert was recognized for his efforts with the prospective table in Baxter. (it was no fault of Bert's that the table served the florescent-colored and not-so-tasty cookies We may step up to Little Debbies next Spring). Kate Ervin addressed the opinions@wso.williams.edu which included "poor network and email quality" and "warm water in Baxter." The movement to pour the warm water in Baxter on the low-quality networked terminals in Baxter failed. During Members Open Hour Heather Genovesi, who urges you all to Run on May 3rd, mentioned the interest someone had in becoming the Purple Cow Mascot. Bert LeatherCow liked the idea and also suggested we have a quickcam film the meetings. Willynet has already expressed interest, as we would fit nicely after the show everybody is talking about: "Finding Your Mate: Helpful Hints to Keeping you Socks in Pairs". Hip Hop at the Log on Tuesday nights is in the works, I'll keep you posted. The Log, for the edification of the campus, is planning to remain as it is...rumors otherwise are solely rumors. Our homepage is a true work in progress, if you would like to help us out, we'd do your laundry for a week. Call me (x6672). CC guru Sam Abelson brought up and we passed a proposal (18-0-0) to have those numerous faculty-student committees report to CC (interested it why? email her: 98sba). WCMC(Williams College Media Center) was granted $200 (15-1-2) for it's Media Awards (your rep. has details). Next week: 7:30pm, Griffin 4. Off to hit the weightroom...IM soccer preparations.
