WE HAVE MOVED! Our new home on WSO should look just like the old one, thanks to the joys of tar files.

A universe of thanks to everyone who made it back for the Homecoming game. We rocked, and with Amherst only providing two pitiful little trumpets, our undefeated record still stands.

The official news on the Cardillo Memorial Fund is that the two-thirds estimate was conservative; it has actually EXCEEDED the $25,000 goal. Go, Band!! His daughters are very grateful for our efforts and were there to watch our show on Saturday. If you want to add your contribution to the fund, see the address on the memorial page.

Happy Homecoming, everyone. I hope that all of you who aren't making it up to march with the band will watch us on TV. I'm being optimistic and assuming that the TV coverage does actually include our show!

I have just been informed that the Cardillo Memorial Fund is about two-thirds of the way to the $25,000 needed to make it a permanent endowment to support the position of band director in perpetuity. This is wonderful news. Everyone who hasn't opened their pockets yet, please do so. Every little bit helps. Send your contributions to:

    P.O. Box 231

...and direct your questions to the gift recording office at (413)-597-4992.

I just sent out an email harrassing alumni bandfolk to commit to Homecoming and informed the current bandfolk of our numbers and plans. I hope that we'll have at least ten members at this gathering; next time, I'll definitely use snail mail to recruit people, but that just wasn't an option this autumn.

If you are wondering what information I have and what I need, check out the Homecoming Attendance List. That shows what I know about who's coming and/or thinking of coming. Please mail me if you wanna come!! It'll be a blast!

I have finally completed the design for the Cardillo Memorial Graphic. The smaller version can be seen above and is in this file. The larger one is on the "Memorial" page and can be downloaded here. Feel free to take either one and put them on your webpage.

Don't forget to spread the word about Homecoming. I want the Homecoming Attendance List to grow!

I just sent out an email to everyone whose email I have on this page. If you have not received it, you may read it here. I have also added more information accessible on the Members Page, including noting people's instruments and whether or not they were band leaders. Mail me the information I am missing! If you are not on the Homecoming Attendance List, mail me about that, too.

I'm still hoping to collect a group of alumni for the Homecoming Game on November 13th in Williamstown. This list shows the people who have told me so far that they're planning on being there. Mail me if you intend to come, and we'll try and get a meeting together after the game.

I have sent a mailing to the band email list repeating an earlier proposal for everyone to gather in Williamstown at this year's Homecoming, November 13th. This would be a great time to put a serious showing on the field, with lots of alumni bodies belting out the tunes in memory of our dear departed Maestro. Mail me if you intend to come, and I'll try and organize a meeting after the game to make us semi-official.

A mailing has gone out to all alumni asking for donations for the Francis C. Cardillo Memorial Music and Marching Band Endowment, a.k.a. Francis C. Il Duce His Holiness Subcommandante Armadillo Cardillo Music and Marching Band Endowment. Contributions can be mailed to:

I have made a number of additions to this site and rearranged its layout, including adding the news page.

June 2, 1999
Services were held for Francis Cardillo.

June 1, 1999
I put together this website to honor "Papa" Fran Cardillo and to help band alumni to congregate into some sort of Alumni Association. I intend to move this site to wso.williams.edu once we are a more officially-organized group.

May 28, 1999
Fran Cardillo died of complications from Leukemia.
