On campus, my home is the Newman Room.

Serving as a Eucharistic minister at the Student Mass led me to learn how to pray the Rosary which led me to value weekly Adoration, peer ministry, and many people along the way. After Williams, I returned home to help guide teenagers through the RCIA process, meet with fellow young Catholics in prayer and service, and continue my own daily journey of faith. In other words, the beauty of the Catholic faith is it keeps on growing when we learn to remain open and desiring.

When I look back on my years at Williams, among the best and brightest memories are of times spent with the Newman Association. It was during those moments that I began to appreciate the grace of God and how that grace can transform our lives, if we allow it. That realization came about through both profound and mundane examples, such as weekly Mass or simply sharing dinner and conversation shortly afterwards.

I am deeply grateful to God, our chaplain, and my friends at Williams that nourished the seeds of faith in me and many others. This foundation has made all the difference in the joys and sorrows of my life, both on campus and especially afterwards.

Arriving at Williams after four years in a Jesuit high school felt like landing in the belly of the beast. More than once during freshman year I found myself thinking, maybe I should have chosen a nice Catholic university. So Newman was a natural for me. Four years later I realized that the Catholic community at Williams was much more than a refuge: it was a place where I could nurture and develop a faith that continues to sustain me.
