Since its founding in 1929, the team members have sought to advance their love of sailing outside the beautiful waters of Lake Pontoosuc. The team has produced two Olympians as well as an America's Cup Skipper. Recent alumnus Brad Nichol, '02, barely missed a chance to qualify for the Athens Olympics in the Star Class, and continued an Olympic campaign for 2008. At yacht clubs across the country, Williams sailors will meet alumni who fondly remember their time at Williams College. As these alumni are the foundation of our program, today the team is committed to building a supportive and involved network of Williams alums who share our affinity for sailing.
To that end, the team hosts an annual alumni regatta, publishes semi-annual newsletters, and invites our alums to join us at any regatta, at the annual homecoming events, as well as at commencement activities.
