Robbed!!!!

Senior Ben Connard has his pole ripped out of his hand in the last two hundred meters of Saturday's sprint relay. In the final sprint Bates' Justin Easter "accidently" ripped Ben's pole out of his hand as he stepped on it and out-sprinted the one-armed Connard for seventh place. In the later heats Seniors Erin Graham and Hillary Hackman sprinted to a solid 5th place and for the men, Sophomores Anders Haugen and Peter Leonard skied to fifth place in their heat. In perhaps the biggest surprise of the day, Sophomores Whitney Thompson and Sarah Torkelson skied to an impressive third place in their heat! Friday's action was marked by some stellar individual performances. Juniors Eric Tietze and Karl Remson finished ninth and twelth respectively in the grueling men's 20k classic. In the women's 15k classic Seniors Erin Graham and Hilary Hackman skied to thirteenth and nineteenth respectively. Freshmen Addie Robinson was fifth in today's slalom and Sophomore Peter Endres was tenth. Check back in the next couple days for more details and photos.
