Ephmen Win 9th Consecutive NESCAC Championship
The Ephs came into Saturday, April 25th's NESCAC Championships knowing that past success doesn't guarantee future results. That the Ephs had won the last eight NESCAC Championships and 14 of the last 16 would be completely independent of their individual performances on the track at Connecticut College. So the team was hungry. The name on the front of the uniforms, "Williams", was still the same, but this was a different team with a different makeup, and a new head coach. With a little extra fire in their collective bellies, the Ephs responded to some early setbacks to win another NESCAC Championship, and their first under new head coach Fletcher Brooks.

Ephmen Win Little Three Championships
On a rare sunny day, the Ephs ran, threw, and jumped their way to another consecutive Little Three Championship, beating out Wesleyan and Amherst on Wesleyan's track. The Ephs won the meet handily with 185 points. Wesleyan was 2nd with 102 points followed by Amherst with 91. The Ephs might have won by more if not for a rule which stipulated that only three athletes from any one school could score in a given event.

Ephwomen off to a Good Start at Springfield
It was cold, wet, and windy with a temperature of 57 degrees and according to the news it felt like 37. These are the weather conditions that the women's track and field team competed in yesterday at the Springfield College season opener. The Ephs were still on spring break and approached this meet as a training event. Most of the women's team were in events unfamiliar to them, either working on speed or endurance, by moving up or down in events.

Ephmen Continue to Tune Up with Springfield Invitational
There wasn't the excitement of last month's Division III Indoor Championships. The weather was nowhere near as nice as last week's University of Central Florida Invitational (it was quite cold, actually). Some of the team's top scorers opted to train through the meet. Closer inspection reveals that the national-caliber, and much talked about, 4 x 400 team of Fitzgerald, Seferis, Nagy, and Hoerman had been replaced by Eric Jonash, Isaac Nicholson, Pierre-Alexander Meloty-Kapella, and Tomas Kearney. But competition is competition, and the Springfield Invitational of April 4th was a great opportunity to raise the heart rate, get those competitive juices flowing, and take another step toward reclaiming the title of NESCAC Track & Field Champion.
