Traditionally, freshman teams were organized by JAs. But shortly before the Fall 1981 contest, it was feared that no frosh had been recruited. And so Steve Epstein '83 of the Maria LaConcha team broke away to rally the youth. The resulting Singleman Party won the whole contest as a (mostly) lower freshman team, quite an achievement. With nowhere to go but down, they didn't. The following contest, the Singlemans would hook up with an alumni team (including some Pros From Dover and Grape Nehi'ers) to win again as Smedley Terrace.
