Bronfman Lecture Committee

The Jewish community benefits greatly from the many campus lectures sponsored by the Bronfman Lecture Committee and the Jewish Studies program. The committee is composed of professors of Jewish Studies, the chaplain and students appointed by the Jewish Association. They meet regularly to review suggestions for speakers.

If you have an idea for a good speaker, contact the Bronfman Committee chair, Professor Steven Gerrard.

Stanislao Pugliese, Associate Professor of History, Hofstra University. "The Most Ancient of Minorities: 2000 Years of Italian Jewish History"

Zvi Ben-Dor, Assistant Professor of World History, New York University.  "The Mizrahim in Israel: History, Jewish History, and Orientalism"

David N. Myers , Professor of History at UCLA, Director of the UCLA Center for Jewish Studies.  "An American Shtetl? Politics in Kiryas Joel, New York"

Justin Cammy , Assistant Professor of Jewish Studies and Comparative Literature.  "The Sacrifice of Isaac: Jewish Demons, Forbidden Desire, and Creative Betrayal in Bashevis Singer "

Edith Wyschogrod , J. Newton Rayzor Professor of Philosophy & Religious Thought, Rice University.  "Telling the Truth: The Historian's Dilemma" (Co-sponsored by the International Studies Program.)
