Welcome to WOC!

The Williams Outing Club, founded in 1915, is the largest student organization at Williams with over 750 members. Our mission is to support outdoor activities at Williams and to make the outdoors accessible to everyone, regardless of level of experience.

WOC offers a wide variety of events, trips, and activities throughout the year, including regular sunrise hikes, polar bear swims, campouts, indoor climbing, and PE classes as well as many longer trips and other activites. Special events every year include Mountain Day, Winter Carnival, and the WOOLF outdoor orientation program for first-years. Check out our news and upcoming events, subscribe to our mailing lists, or come to a weekly meeting to stay informed on what's going on.

The Outing Club also provides many great resources for Williams students, faculty and staff, and visitors who want to get outside on their own. We publish a trail guide and map for the Williamstown area - the Pine Cobble trail is a local favorite suitable for visitors. Club members can borrow free gear from the WOC equipment room, stay in our Cabin in Hopkins Memorial Forest, and use our climbing wall.
