Alums Compete at 20th Annual Mayor's Cup- Chaffee 11th

Boston, MA- Earlier today Williams Alums Macklin Chaffee, Neal Holtschulte, and Chris Ellis-Ferrara competed in the 20th annual Mayor's Cup at Franklin Park in Boston, MA. Chaffee '09 ran a very strong race on a rain soacked course to finish 11th overall in a time of 24:48 just ahead of Nate Jenkins and just 2 spot behind former Footlocker National Champion and Wisconsin Alum Matt Withrow. The race was won by Sean Quigley, a former NCAA All-American at La Salle University. Also running strong was 2005 NCAA XC Champion Neal Holtschulte '06. Holtschulte finished 20th overall in a time of 25:08 a pace of 5:06 per mile and Ellis-Ferrara was 43rd overall in a time of 26:02. Overall it was a great performance for all three runners.

Chaffee's performance finishes off a great fall racing season for the former Eph that included a 22nd place finish at US 5k Road Championships in 14:29 and a pair of victories at Williams' home XC invitationals. Chaffee will soon be heading to Wellington, New Zealand to continue his training with a local running club and compete in a summer racing circuit in the South Pacific.
