[CCouncil] Wednesday's Meeting

Hey Council,

This Wednesday is going to be a little different format. We're going to be
meeting in Greylock Classroom B at 6:30. So that means please get your dinner 
from upstairs between 6 and 6:30 if you can so we can make productive use of
our time. 

In the meantime, everyone should be looking over the new alcohol policy changes
that are being made because after our mini-SPARC workshop we'll be spending a
large portion of our time on Wednesday discussing how effective/ineffective
they are and how they can change/remain the same.

  -8 involving urine
  -6 involving excrement
  -8 involving vomit
  -1 involving vomit and urine
  -1 involving used condoms

The New Policies concerning such behavior and alcohol abuse---


Consequences for JAs who purchase alcohol for minors:  
 
"When the College has evidence that a JA has purchased alcohol for a
minor/minors, the Dean's Office will treat it as a disciplinary proceeding (p.
140 of the 2007-08 Student Handbook).  If the dean decides that the JA in
question did purchase alcohol for a minor/minors, the JA will then receive a
written warning from the Dean's Office.  If that same JA is determined to have
purchased alcohol a second time for a minor/minors, he or she will be removed
from his or her JA position and possibly receive a further sanction, depending
on the incident.The JA has the right to appeal this action under the same terms
as used in any disciplinary proceedings (see pp. 140 and 170 of the Student
Handbook)."

Consequences for Individuals:
   -Responsible people will be identified and asked to clean-
   -In case of refusal to clean or clean adequately student will face 
    disciplinary action in keeping with the severity of the incident, 
    including possible suspension from the College.

Consequences for Student Organizations:
    -Responsible people will be identified and asked to clean-up
    -If not host organization will be asked to clean-up
    -In case of failed clean-up organization it will not be allowed 
     to host an event for a minimum of one month, and it will be 
     assessed a significant fine, depending on the severity of the incident.

Consequences for Houses/Entries:
    -Responsible people will be identified and asked to clean-up
    -If not house/entry residents will be asked to clean-up
    -In case of failed clean-up, the house will be placed on Restricted
    (residents-only) card access; no registered parties for a month; 
    residents will be billed for cleanup
