[The Society of the Griffins] Black Theatre Trip: November 23rd

Below is an opportunity for anyone interested in blackness, theatre, or
getting out of Willytown. Sign-ups are first come first serve.

*What To Send Up When It Goes Down*
*Saturday, November 23rd | 7:30AM - 8:00PM | Loeb Drama Center (Harvard
Campus)*
Sisterhood, SoCA, BSU, WASO, and The Society of the Griffins are hosting a
trip to *Harvard *to see the show, "What to Send Up When It Goes Down" by
Aleshea Harris. We will be going on *Saturday, November 23rd at 7:30 AM and
returning to campus around 8:00 PM.* *50* tickets are available, but only a
*limited* amount for *SOG* (change depending on your group) members. So if
you would like to attend, please make sure to sign up as a *SOG member*
 ASAP.

*"What to Send Up When It Goes Down"* is a community ritual created in
response to the deaths of Black people as a result of racialized violence.
As lines between characters and actors, observers and observed blur, a
dizzying series of vignettes build to a climactic moment where performance
and reality collide. Meant to disrupt the pervasiveness of anti-blackness
and acknowledge the resilience of Black people throughout history, this
theatrical work uses parody, song, movement, and audience participation to
create a space for catharsis, reflection, cleansing, and healing.
