Hi, and hope everyone had restful breaks!

Reminder that *Joy Ladin*, the first only openly transgender employee of an
Orthodox Jewish institution, will be speaking *tonight!* You'll have two
chances to catch her:

*4:00pm:* Poetry & Memoir Reading - JRC (24 Stetson Court)
*7:00pm:* Lecture - Paresky Auditorium (39 Chapin Hall Road, Lower Level)

Professor Ladin will explore the intersections and collisions of trans and
Jewish identity through her personal experience and her work on theorizing
trans identities in relation to religious traditions. Professor Ladin will
give a reading from her memoir and two recently published poetry
collections, followed by a lecture on her forthcoming book on reading God
and Torah from a transgender perspective.

This event is co-sponsored by WCJA, the Chaplains' Office, the Dively
Committee for Human Sexuality and Diversity, the Lecture Committee, and the
Oakley Center for Humanities and Social Sciences with support from the
English Department and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.

Best,
Emma
