From mlf2 at williams.edu Wed Apr 3 17:49:35 2019 From: mlf2 at williams.edu (Flignor, Marisa) Date: Wed, 3 Apr 2019 17:49:35 -0400 Subject: [Jewonthis] Jewish Association Board Elections! Message-ID: Hi all, It's hard to believe, but Passover is almost upon us! That means that it's time to begin thinking about the future of the Williams College Jewish Association (WCJA) and who the leadership will be for the upcoming academic year. WCJA will be holding board elections on Wednesday, April 10th! Here is the application process for a board position (position descriptions can be found here ): - Please send a short self-nomination (a paragraph is fine) to Rachel Levin (ryl1) and Marisa Flignor (mlf2) - Self nominations should include: why you hope to serve in this position, any relevant experience that you have, and your goals for the upcoming year. - There are no prerequisites or prior qualifications necessary for positions on the board. Both Jewish and non-Jewish Williams students are welcome and encouraged to apply for positions. - Self-nominations are due by 4:00 PM on Monday, April 8th. Elections for any contested positions will occur on April 10th, at 9:00 PM in the Jewish Religious Center (JRC). That meeting, like all of our weekly Wednesday board meetings, is open to all. If you would like to vote but know you will be unable to make the meeting, please contact Rachel and Marisa. Self-nominations should be submitted individually. Should candidates wish to run as a ticket, both should submit self-nominations, and make it clear to Rachel and Marisa that they hope to serve as a team. Successful candidates will assume their positions beginning around Passover 2018 (April 19) through Passover 2020. However, if you are currently abroad, or will be abroad for part of next year, you are still strongly encouraged to apply and hold a position for half of the year! Self-nominations to establish a new position are also encouraged. Please note that all board members are expected to be present at weekly board meetings (1 hour/week). All board members are also expected to help cook Shabbat dinner (1 hour/week), in addition to other duties. Please note that hours may vary from week to week according to the needs of individual board members -- these numbers are not set in stone.
