This event will be an all day affair, including a round trip bus ride to NYC, a speech by Abi Williams (an assistant to Kofi Annan and UWC grad), lunch with various Williams alums working in relevant fields and a tour of the UN. The plans are being finalized. This is a joint project--the OCC, Dean's Office, David Bartsch, as well as the Development Office have all had a hand in putting together the day. While the focus will be on UWC scholars and futures in international relations, we hope to include a variety of individuals working in the field. As UWC Davis Scholars, you will be expected to contribute in the following ways: 1) Design and implement efforts to publicize the event (working with OCC and Dean Carole) 2) Contact alums from your UWC schools who current reside in the New York city area and would be interested and available to participate in the event. 3) Provide guidance to above mentioned offices when event planning is in need of a student perspective. Please let me know how you think you'll be able to help in the three areas. Also, would it be possible for you to identify 2 UWC scholars amongst yourselves to take the lead? To get things moving, I would like to get some ideas from you on what kind of changes you would like to see happen at Williams or what are some of the things you want to introduce here. It can be anything!
