*The Michael Christmas/Homebrew show was easily one one of the greatest
nights at Williams in a while. I'm telling y'all, **don't sleep on the
Boston rap scene. **Thanks to everyone who came out, and stay tuned for
more **transcendent** shows...*
*SHOW OF THE WEEK*

*FOR WHAT IT'S WORTH ~ with Matt Newman & Johnny Inoue*

*TUESDAYS @ 6-7 PM*

*GENRE: Classic Rock, Alternative, Indie*
"For What it's Worth" is the culmination of two friends' free-wheeling
Mission jam sessions. It's the sum of its parts - the knowledgable, but
quirky tandem of Matt Newman '20 and Johnny Inoue '20 - but also represents
a microcosm of the state of classic rock in 2017 - common room debates,
satisfying trivia, and the ever-evolving notion of "good times." Check out
Hannah's full profile here

*FEATURED MUSIC*
*SUPER SLIMEY*
Young Thug & Future

It actually happened. The linguistic innovators of modern rap, the
syrup-sipping figureheads of the Atlanta vanguard, came together and
dropped a great rap album. *SUPER SLIMEY* isn't a career-defining album for
Future or Young Thug, and admittedly Thugger does most of the heavy lifting
on the record, but it's fun as hell and serves as a glossy capstone on one
of rap's more troubling beefs. Key tracks: “Killed Before,” “200,” “Real
Love.”

*Take Me Apart*
Kelela

*Take Me Apart* sounds like what the future of pop should sound like.
Drawing from influences like Bjork and Janet Jackson, Kelela carries
this collection of electropop bangers with her sinewy voice and impulsive
songwriting. The stripped back breakup ballads aren't to be slept on
either. Key Tracks: "Waitin," "Better," "Bluff."
------------------------------
------------------------------

*Live in Montreal*
Hiromi & Edmar Castaneda

I'm normally not a "you missed out" downer, but if you didn't see jazz
harpist Edmar Castaneda perform at Williams last year, you missed out. One
of the most virtuosic musicians on the planet. Here, he's playing his brand
of earthy, undefinable folk-jazz with fellow genius Hiromi on the keys.
It's in-your-face, bordering on overwhelming, but also deeply familiar and
whimsical. Key tracks: “The Elements: Fire,” “For Jaco,” “Cantina Band.”
