*LIVE MUSIC IS COMING*

*SALMON SHORTS*
A five-piece Amherst band
Salmon Shorts are a 5-piece band formed at Amherst College in 2015. Their
sound is varied and features influence from genres as diverse as Rock 'n'
Roll, Jazz, R&B and more. Warren Timothe, the groups frontman, says that
they almost got hit by three or four cars while trying to take this
picture. Check them out in Spencer Living Room this Saturday at 10pm!
*FEATURED MUSIC*
*Superorganism*
Superorganism

The story of Superorganism is about as strange as they come. The lead
vocalist is a 17-year-old Japanese girl from Maine–one day she packed her
bags and left for London to move in with the band Superorganism. Now all
eight members share a flat in London that doubles as a recording studio.
Their unique and weird story is only half as weird as their music. Their
self-titled album was highly anticipated after the warbly, wacky "Something
For Your M.I.N.D." was released months ago. Now that their full album is
out, we can revel in the knowledge that their throbbing beats and Orono's
unique vocals are here to stay. Each track is a tour of the singer's
talents backed up by imaginative sounds reminiscent of a younger,
less-weary LCD Soundsystem. It's a fun album with a surprising production
quality. If you play this over the aux, beware of the initial sideways
glares before everyone else warms up to it.
*Twin Fantasy*
Carseat Headrest

Car Seat Headrest might be the best thing to happen to Indie Rock. Will
Toledo’s poetry has a rare kind of honesty that seems to become more
radical with maturity. It’s the kind of album you can blast on full volume
and unite with the natural angst of growing up in a society that forces us
to disconnect with the rawness of nature. Toledo struggles to find ways to
connect with his inner innocence in a world plagued by the chaotic backdrop
of self-destruction and sexual escapism. The album ends with an almost
religious feeling of redemption and revival through the beauty and
innocence of youth, an epic/sad celebration of the purest form of loving
each other for who we truly are. This reconnection with the backdrop of
trauma almost feels forced. The “Twin Fantasy” is in many ways this
impossible unity, with the paradoxical hope of reconnection with the purest
form of love.
