Buildings and Grounds, more commonly known as B&G or Facilities, take care of us at Williams. They fix our heat, plant the flowers, set up chairs, take out our trash, clean our bathrooms, and do all the things behind the scenes that make the college run smoothly.
Service requests
Heat not on? Window shade malfunctioning? Call x2486. According to the service guide, here's what you should do:
- Your routine maintenance call is received at 597-2486 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can e-mail non-emergency work requests to . If you have an emergency request after 3:30 p.m., weekends or holidays, call Security at 597-4444.
Fun Facts
B&G sometimes drives around in those little electric cars. That's neat. Usually they drive around in vans, though.
If you lock yourself out of your room before 3:00 pm, find your custodian and have them let you in. This is free and does not cost $5 like it does if Security has to come let you in. However, the custodians have often put away their keys by 3:00, and then they go home at 3:30, because they start working very early in the morning.
