How to access old WSO email

In September 2005, WSO ceased delivering mail to local accounts and began forwarding all email for WSO accounts. In January 2006, access via IMAP or POP to mail stored on WSO's servers ended. This document describes how to access mail that still lives on WSO's servers.

Your WSO old mail lives in the mail folder inside your WSO home directory. This folder has a number of files which are in the "mbox" format. This file format is readable by most email clients. First, download your mail folder to your computer (using an SFTP client or AFP, which is built into the OS X finder). Once you have the files on your local computer, all you need to do is import the various mbox files into your favorite email client (e.g. Mac OS X Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, Microsoft Outlook).
