Root is the name of the superuser on Unix, Linux, Mac OS X, and other similar operating systems. WSO uses the term to refer to a person who has root (or superuser) privileges on the WSO servers.
As a student organization, WSO is always looking for more members. More hands on deck allow us to respond to problems more quickly and to create more services for the campus community. Consider joining the wso-staff email list to hear more about what goes on inside WSO.
