There is an old saying that it is the cobbler's
family whose feet are perpetually ill-shod or even unshod. Such is
the way with web site compilers-- or with this one, anyhoo. Although
I have grandiose schemes of eventually posting personal writings on
some set of pages one day, in reality my own pages have remained
rather sparse, without even the requisite list of links to my favorite
sites. Ah well...
What I can give, however, are links to sites which I have worked on
(past, present, and future). Like y'all are interested in seeing
pictures of me, my (non-existent) dog, and my friends anyhoo. ;.)
Pages I've Known/Worked On:
Pages Past:
- Williams College Center for Environmental Studies
- Now in the capable hands of Leigh Greenwood, these pages were
developed and maintained by yours truly while I was an Envi
concentrator at Williams (1995-1997). The CES site contains plenty of
useful stuff, from information on the Hopkins Memorial Forest to
lists of weekly Log Lunch topics to a list of current job openings
with environmental organizations.
- Berkshire Connect
- I do not actually maintain this site, although as an intern and
Associate Planner for the Berkshire Regional Planning Commission, I
was intimately involved with the Berkshire Connect project, which
seeks to provide Berkshire County, Mass. with high-quality,
cost-efficient Internet access. February 2000: They've announced a
partnership to establish a high-quality, telecom network in
Berkshire County that will serve the needs of businesses,
non-profits, schools, etc. Yahoo!
- Williams Project on the Economics of Higher Education
- My work on these pages was mainly basic set-up and maintenance; the current webmaster has spruced things up a bit.
Pages Present:
- CP 268 (West Oakland Community
Development Studio) Resource Page
- February 2000: I have volunteered to compile a resource pages
of sorts for my class. Oh yeah, the class is part of the Department of City and Regional
Planning at UC Berkeley,
where I am currently working towards a Master of City Planning
degree. (Bu wa haha!)
- From Mill to
Museum: A Research Guide to the Industrial Development and Labor
History of North Adams, Massachusetts
- This project is the on-line version of the annotated
bibliography on industry in North Admas, which I compiled over the
summer (of 1997) as part of a research internship funded by the
President's Office at Williams College and supervised by Robert
Dalzell of the History Department. I am now continuing work on the
project, adding site maps to provide researchers with a sense of the
physical context of the site.
Pages Future:
- Global Women's Project: Nicaraguan Women's Organizations
- These pages are a somewhat painful topic for me, since they
were actually supposed to be completed sometime in the spring of
1996, after my trip there in Jan. '96 with the Global Women's
Project. Parts of these pages are written, but they don't seem to
adequately capture my experience in Nicaragua or the organizations
themselves. It doesn't help that I feel that I should also be
writing them in Spanish, while my command of the Spanish language
has deteriorated to a somewhat basic level after being out of high
school for 4.5 years now. I would however, eventually like to sit
down and get these hammered out. We'll see what happens.
That's all for now. If you've got questions regarding any of these sites, please give me an
