"Thanks," I say, then move towards her. I grab her hand and press the loose change from my palm to hers. She curls her fingers upwards as mine pull away, and glances at her tip: a dime and a penny. Her tongue takes a lazy stroll across her lips, then she looks up and smiles at me.

"You know, I've heard copper and silver are immeldable metals." Her voice is low and matter-of-fact.

"So they say."

I lean back on my heels and watch her, her soft red hair falls across her eyes as she breaks my gaze momentarily, glances at her feet. Then returns to my face.

She quirks her eyebrow at me and pockets the change.

"Wanna prove them wrong?"
