Located on the western shore of Lake Decatur, Nelson is a short, hilly golf course filled with early 20th-century character. The golf course offers beautiful views of the lake and Decatur's industrial skyline.

Also located in Nelson Park are a public swimming pool, an amphitheater, batting cages, and a miniature golf course.
