los angeles

places for a vegetarian to eat 'round here:

happy family
Vegetarian Chinese food in Monterey Park. Pretty good overall, though some dishes were better than others (My favorites were all deep-fried). They're big into the fake-meat meat thing, fake fish, fake squid, fake chicken, fake pork... I reccomend ordering the all-you-can-eat, a great way to try a bunch of different dishes.
pita pita
Just east of Lake Ave. on Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena. Their falafel is to die for, the best I've had, and at $3.95 their falafel wrap is a steal. The veggie combo plate is good too, though large enough to feed you and your neighbor too.
luna tierra sol
www.lunatierrasol.com a great veggie restaurant in los angeles complete with a punk shop and lefty magazines to read while you wait.
orean health express
On north Lake Ave. in Pasadena, this drive-through is totally vegan. The food is good though very messy. I reccomend the vegan cookies too. The shakes are awesome, though a little bit big to finish, and be careful the chai-flavored shake doesn't may keep you awake, tossing and turning, all night.
the good earth
North of Colorado Blvd. on Rosemead Blvd. in Pasadena. The food is okay but not all that imaginative. Very good herbal iced tea!
