Description:
Jamie is one of the more visually distinct younger Amberites: she's
pretty tall, quite thin, sort of androgynous looking, and damn close
to albino. Her skin is pale, her hair is that white-seeming blond,
her eyes are light blue. She was also one of the most confused of the
younger Amberites, and here we're not referring to the fact that the
pages tend to refer to her as My Lord rather than My Lady.
Jamie started the game knowing nothing of her parentage. She had
thought herself a Shadow Dweller until somebody later identified as
Caine Trumped her to the Great Pattern, put her foot on it, and told
her to sink or swim. Swim she did, and spent a few years wandering
through Shadow before Adria found her.
When Jamie was more formally introduced to Amber, she found a fairly
cold welcome. Random seemed less than thrilled with her, and
Gérard not at all. But the cousins seemed nice enough, and she
spent some time with them...
When Jamie, Tom, and Adria were skirmishing with some of the initial
"Arzhen" forces, Jamie was knocked out and taken prisoner (probably by
Tiequero, actually). When she recovered, she met Bleys, aka Arzhen,
who made her an offer which rather changed her role in Amber. From
that point on, Jamie was Bleys's agent, and she helped along his plans
to take the Golden Circle.
At Merlin and Liira's wedding, her role as "Contessa of Gozaru, High
Templar of the Order of the Great Prophet Arzhen" was announced, and
Jamie took on a more public role as Bleys's right hand person.
By the way, don't believe Jamie's low initial bid in Warfare; she's
demonstrated a substantially higher ranking. She's also given some
evidence of a few of the more advanced Pattern abilities.
Personality-wise, Jamie still regards herself as an outsider of sorts,
but nonetheless, she's one of the most Machiavellian of her
generation. As such, it wasn't a great suprise to many when she
learned that her father was Caine.
