Trump Description

Gavin leans on a great-sword, its point dug into the ground at his feet, his left arm draped across its crossguard. He's slim -- no, skinny, really -- and young-looking. His face is stern, his cheekbones, nose and chin sharp. Like his mother, his hair is quite black, and his eyes are the same; pupils and irises are indistinguishable from one another. His dark brows are pulled down slightly over his eyes, giving him a hawkish look.

He wears a light mail shirt, its color an unaltered steel. His well-made trousers are black, and he wears boots of black leather. He looks quite the young warrior.

Modern Appearance

Gavin's Trump was made a goodly long time ago. Nowadays, a better description of him might be:

A razor-slim man, perhaps in his early twenties, by appearance. His hair is black and cropped quite short, and his glittering eyes match. Despite his apparant youth, his skin is a bit weathered, and well tanned.

He wears durable, light-blue pants that aren't quite denim, and a white shirt of uncommon style, its sleeves reaching his elbows and loose; collarless; and buttoning down the front. He wears a simple leather belt which has on it a sheath for a small metal tool. All of his clothing is durable, simple, but exceedingly well made. He carries no weapons, but loose in his right hand is a walking stick that might double as a cudgel.

He looks like nothing so much as an affluent, obsessed hiker -- travelling light but smart.

Characteristic Gear

Gavin has only one item that he keeps with him at all times -- a tool rather like a "leatherman" (those stainless steel things that fold up like a butterfly knife, but have pliers rather than a blade, and then swiss army knife-like handles), albeit from a location different from Shadow Earth.

He also carries a walking stick of some kind with him almost everywhere, but not the same walking stick each time -- he actually goes through them pretty quickly.

Gavin wears servicable, rugged clothes, and dresses for utility rather than style, but that shouldn't be taken to mean that he doesn't wear good clothing -- in fact, anyone with an eye for that sort of thing will notice that his clothing is very well tailored indeed. He usually dresses in layers, and tends to eschew armor.

Traveller that he is, Gavin tends to wear a backpack. He prefers the well-designed kind that spread weight out and all, though he doesn't go in for the Gigantic Frame Backpacks Of Doom; smaller ones tend to be sufficient.

Symbols and Colors

When he was a youth, Gavin used as his symbol Deirdre's crescent moon, but black on a field of azure, rather than Deirdre's silver-on-black. This made his colors light blue and black. (See the symbol on the main page)

Since then, on a whim, Gavin adopted a crescent planet as his somewhat informal symbol. He has difficulty taking the whole matter too seriously, and doesn't dress in his "colors" anyhow. The planet obscurely amuses him, so he uses it when possible.
