Games
I am, almost principally, a gamer. I play roleplaying games.
I play wargames. Cardgames. Boardgames. Computer games, even,
though not as often as you'd think. There's nothing quite like gaming
in terms of a leisure-time activity. I mean, don't get me wrong, I
enjoy a good long read or some physical exertion, or just hanging out
with friends as much as the next guy, but the ability of (the better)
games to engage you and challenge you on a mental and sometimes even
emotional level... It's something you should try.
I also design games. Poorly. Check out Sandor
at the Zoo, which has much the same links as this page, but from a
design perspective. The name is a reference to Vernor Vinge's A
Fire Upon the Deep.
Current Games
- The lovely and talented Bernie Hsiung is starting a Fudge
Horror/Conspiracy/Psychics game called The Country
of the Blind
- Palace, Az, the Buffy game that I run
intercut through Bernie's efforts.
My Stuff
- My world famous Amber page, including my New Mutiny game. (Yes, the "world famous" bit is a joke).
- A prestige class I developed for D&D3, the Thaumaturge
- Dreams of Santa Cruz, which isn't actually a campaign, but background material for Changelings (from WW's C:tD) in Santa Cruz, California. I'm using it in my World of Lost Children game, but it's pretty general.
- Munchkins, a humor game I wrote. Wonder of wonders, it's complete and even moderately pleasant to look at. I'm looking for art for it, if you happen to be an artist... I might even pay.
- All Outta Bubblegum, a beer-and-pretzels game system. Mostly just an extended joke, but it is an honest to god (if ultra-simple) game system.
The Jeff Section
- Jeff Grant's Cthulhu game. It's an extension of this earlier game.
- Jeff Grant's (completed) AD&D campaign. I'm a huge Jeff Grant fan.
- The Vietnam Game that I'm developing for Jeff's sorry white ass.
- Another Kind of Hive, the Necromunda game that I'm developing for play by Jeff, Jeff, and Damian. I'm dangerously obsessed with Jeffs.
- Let's Get Crackin', Jeff's D&D3 Spelljammer game. Don't you worry none, I'm in a support group for the whole "Jeff" thing. We hug and cry a lot.
