The external music director heads the music office, charts the week's top tracks and albums, and is the point man for the station when talking to most record labels.

The internal music director updates the new music stacks and maintains the thousands of older records and discs.

The other four directors, who do not sit on the board, each focus on a particular field: RPM, Loud, Hip-Hop, and World/Jazz. They are responsible for procuring and reviewing new music in their genre.
