I'm so far behind in the Style Invitational that I've decided to run my own little contest today just for me. The theme is things you don't want to hear from people, and we have three winners. Here they are:

    Things you don't want to hear...

       ...from your boss, as you're about to leave for the day:       "Let's talk about your schedule for tonight."

       ...from your girlfriend, over instant messenger:       "I'm not dumping you. More like downgrading."

       ...from your lawyer, to begin an unexpected phone call:       "I have some interesting news about your house."

    I never could get the hang of Thursdays.
