C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me.
C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me.
C is for Cookie, that's good enough for me.
Oh, cookie, cookie, cookie starts with C.

Cookie is good enough for me. But many other things that start with C are not. There are some things that start with C, some incredibly useful things which everyone has because everyone needs, which I simply do not possess. Car starts with C.* But I do not have a Car, even though all of my family, most of my friends, and a large portion of the known world believes that I ought to get one. For a number of reasons, I have yet to do so. The last thing the world needs is me on the road behind the wheel. Really.

Credit Card also starts with C. Twice. Which is the number of times in a ten minute conversation that my father is likely to suggest I get one. (Or a car.) But I still do not have a credit card either, which caused somewhat of an inconvenience tonight when I wanted to order something over the phone. On the upside, I hear that my bank card can work as a credit card for that sort of thing. So as soon as I set up my new one, that should be fine.

I've never liked the letter C, perhaps because it was the lowest conceiveable grade one might get in school. Ds and Fs simply didn't happen, but C, C was bad. When I went to look at colleges, I refused to look anywhere that began with C. I went up to Maine and looked at Bates and Bowdoin, but not Colby. I didn't want to go to a C-school, and I don't have a good reason.

Some of you might be thinking it's clear that I don't like C from my failure to ingest enough of it last winter. Well yo ho ho, aren't you clever.

But there are many things that begin with C that I like. Cheese, cheddar. Cookies, chocolate chip. And although it is an oft-maligned combination (about as oft as I eat or mention it), Cheddar Cheese on Chocolate Chip Cookies is delicious.

If you don't believe me, try it and C for yourself.

Home, Jeeves.

*"No," you say, "Car starts with key!" Well, who asked you, anyway.
