August 4, 2004

So, around a year ago I was in the process of leaving the Moldy Mansion and moving into an apartment, where I lived until I moved into my current house. Tom, on the other hand, had left the Mansion earlier, tenting that summer and moving into another house for the cold months. This summer he had been tenting again, but yesterday (after I told him I had another prospective housemate) he decided to come in from the cold and rent a room in my house. So Tom is once again living with me.

In an odd twist of fate, he has once again ended up with the largest room, and the largest bed. In the Moldy Mansion, the big room with the big bed had a lot of musty books that made me ill when we first moved in, so I had moved to a smaller room in the back. And at my current house, I had set aside the large room with large bed as the guestroom, hence it was available for use. I suppose I didn't really need the large bed anyway, seeing as I continue to sleep alone. And the loss of a guestroom means that I can comfortably host slightly fewer guests, but still have a spare floor mattress and plenty of space in the living room, so my friends are still encouraged to come visit.

One of my friends (I presume), in fact, recently gave me a pleasant present. Upon arriving home tonight after a lengthy gaming group, I discovered a box of four hot sauces on my porch. I can only hope that they are not as spicy as the extremely spicy hot sauce I was gifted two years ago, which still resides only half-used in my fridge. But I do not know from whence they came; only that I presume they are not from Tom or my other housemate, as they could have put the sauce inside instead of leaving it on the porch.

Finally, in random news, I must create a new website in the next month or two. I sort of insisted that the publishers of my first book put my new URL in the book as my website, which I convinced them to do by saying it would be good promotion for the book. But less than two months from the release date, I still haven't even purchased hosting for the site, let alone created it. Problem? Hopefully not. But by October, I will either have a new (prettier) website for you to look at, or a long rant about what a failure I am.

Either way, it's bound to be entertaining.
