Issue of the week: "Ex-Ray"
by Seth Brown

There once was a man named Ray Flynn
Who ran the city of Boston.
  This political player
  Used his power as mayor
To get populist agendas in.

He was thought to be quite nitty-gritty,
His working-class image was pretty.
  It gained him such prominence
  That he was given dominance,
As ambassador to Vatican City.

Is it wise to let him meet the Pope?
A great many people say, "Nope."
  His behavior's erratic
  And undiplomatic,
And sometimes he acts like a dope.

This allegation still stands,
That power's misused in his hands.
  His actions weren't nice,
And at least once or twice
They have netted him strict reprimands.

Flynn responds that it's not really fair
How the media treat this affair,
  Working at the Vatican
He does the best that he can
As the only blue-collar man there.

He's a staunch Irish Catholic beleiver,
And claims that he is the receiver
  Of bias and snubs
When he hangs out in pubs,
And that bad PR is a deceiver.

Yet though he claims descrimination,
Others fear for the good of our nation.
  They're upset that we sent
  Someone to represent
Us, who often shows inebriation.

So now he is looking back home,
To take on the governor's throne.
  But it might be tough,
  Because he has enough
Problems right now on his own.

His aides have been jailed left and right,
For misusing political might.
  Improper fund usage,
  And other abusage,
Those apprentices learn fast, alright!

So Flynn may just throw in his hat,
As a governor's race Democrat.
But the point may be moot,
  Thanks to his ill-repute;
The Republicans will drink to that.
