In the nineties, what is a teen?
Their reputation is lewd and obscene.
Portrayed as thugs, across the nation
For using drugs and pierced self-mutilation
These days, teenagers are prone
To try and stand out, and not be a clone.
Parents feel it's a bad dream,
In the nineties, raising a teen.

In the nineties, what is a teen?
Folks think that most of them are violent and mean.
They never heed that exhortation
To show respect for the administration
These days, it's commonly known
That teens are doing things that aren't condoned
Old folks act like they could scream
For having to deal with a teen.

But these "old folks" are just former teens
This decade's nothing new that hasn't been seen
They weren't angels, last generation
With LSD-induced hallucinations
Those days, they talked on the phone,
For hours until their parents needed a loan.
So enjoy life while it is pristine,
Years from now, you'll be complaining of the teens.
