M&M came to visit us all the way from Rhode Island. At least that's what the band on his leg said. One morning returning from check, the west end found M&M. He was apparently injured or just tired, so we took him into the kitchen and started to feed him M&M's (hence the name)in an effort to restore his energy. He immediately took a liking to them and ate all that we gave him. He also took a liking to Caleb, and Caleb would let him perch on his head. Of course, that was before M&M had a little accident on Caleb's head. When the east end came in from check, we showed off our new friend. At Helen's suggestion, we put him in the rest cage in the back, along with a bowl of real bird food. He seemed to be having a good time during his stay on GGI, but to make it even better, Henry and I built him a little roost out of a crate and cardboard box. He loved this, and could usually be found enjoying the view of the world from inside his snug little home. One day we woke up and M&M was gone. Maybe he decided to go back to Rhode Island, being the homing pigeon he was.
