Action Trivia Submissions

Highest-scoring submissions are shown in boldface

Note: in-person performances and those submitted via email might not appear on this page.

Action #1: The Teaberry Shuffle

Come down to the radio station and show us how to do The Teaberry Shuffle, from the advertisement for Clark's Teaberry Gum. We'll give you extra credit if you tell us the name of the song used for the jingle, and the group who recorded it.

Action #2: Rewriting History

Not satisfied with J.K. Rowling's version of events? Come to Prospect to perform how Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows should have ended.

Action #3: Soliloquy

Please Perform for us a famous Shakespearean soliloquy, as rewritten and performed by either Captain Malcolm Reynolds, River Song, Jon Snow, Hillary Clinton, or Donald J. Trump.

Action #4: Style in Sports

First, show us Sadahuro Oh's home run swing. Second, show us Tom Dempsey kicking his record setting (at the time) 63-yard field goal. And finally, show us Rick Barry shooting a free throw.

Action #5: Inappropriate Disney Film

As you might have noticed while you've been stuck at home binging Disney+, several Disney films (such as The Hunchback of Notre Dame) were adapted from stories that definitely weren't meant for little kids. Please show us the Disney version of some other not-exactly-G-rated source material.

Action #6: Shatner Sings Hamilton!

Sing any song you like from the musical Hamilton, but do it in the style of William Shatner.

Action #7: The Gong Show Worm Dance

Do The Gong Show "Worm Dance". [A dancefloor sensation that would break out on the show without warning. As soon as the music started, host Chuck Barris, the celebrity gongers, stagehands, contestants, and anyone else would fling themselves on the ground and wriggle like cooking bacon. As soon as the crescendo of the music ended, Barris would yell, "ONE MORE TIME!" and everyone would re-fling themselves down and gyrate. Barris would usually shout "ONE MORE TIME"! at least 4 or 5 times before the commercial mercifully ended the Worm segment.]

Action #8: Do the Hustle

Do the Hustle! Extra points for appropriate clothing. [This was the first action trivia in the May, 1989 contest presented by Leave the Gun, Take the Cannolis. Disco had been highly uncool for the preceeding 10 years, but many college students had learned disco dances in elementary school, so it was enjoying a certain cult renaissance.]

Action #9: Championship Game

Show us the championship game of a sport or game that doesn't have a championship game.
