The Questions

(NOTE: In the 1970s, it was common for trivia teams to assign 15-question chunks of their upcoming contests to one or more contributors, who would then take the on-air microphone during their hour(s). The rule of thumb was 15 questions per hour, or 120 for the night, although not all contests maintained that pace in practice.

We mention this here because the typed format of the questions in Alphabet Soup's 1979 contest tends to shift every 15 questions, according to the tastes of the writers. Rather than rejigger everything to match, we have kept some of the the differing formats as originally written by the various Soupfolk.)
