I. M*A*S*H
- In the "dream" episode, the 4077th personnel attempt to escape a particularly heavy barrage of wounded with a few minutes of sleep. The war, however, invades even their dreams. What did each of the following dream?
- Hawkeye
Hawkeye was back in medical school. When the doctor asked him how to replace a patient's arm, Hawkeye did not know, having slept through the lesson. The doctor removed one of Hawkeye's arms. Charles then removed Hawkeye's other arm. Both arms were thrown into a lake filled with arms and legs. Across the lake, a small Korean child begged for him to operate on her. As he began the operation, he realized that he had no arms and could not do the surgery.
- B.J.
Dressed in a white dinner jacket, he was in a fancy nightclub filled with dancing celebrants. Atop a staircase, his wife Peg appeared, and the two spun around and around on the dancefloor. Their dancing eventually took them into the operating room, where Col. Potter "cuts in." B.J. began to operate on a patient, as his wife danced away from him.
- Margaret
She was in an open field in her wedding dress. Just as she and her groom got into their honeymoon bed, wounded soldiers marched by like robots. Soon their bodies were piled onto her bed. Her dress now soaked with blood, she tried to help operate on them, but the medical equipment was missing.
- Charles
Dressed as a magician, he performed tricks to wild enthusiasm. But then, Col. Potter pulled back the curtain to reveal a wounded soldier. Charles pulled a flag from his own ear, juggled, and finally tap-danced holding sparklers, but the man dies.
- Col. Potter
He is horseback riding, knocking away live grenades with a polo mallet. He sees a younger version of himself staring back at him, then hears his mother's voice calling.
- Klinger
Aboard a train, he got off in Toledo, Ohio. Walking his old neighborhood, all the streets were eerily deserted. Looking through the window of his favorite hot dog joint, he saw Col. Potter operating on a patient. The patient was Klinger himself.
- Father Mulcahy
He was carried into the Mess Tent on a chair by six monks. The M*A*S*H members gazed in awe as Mulcahy blessed them. When he opened his Bible, blood began dripping onto the pages from the crucifix above. When he looked at the doctors and nurses, they were in the operating room.
