Fairly obviously, this contest was won (or lost, for the negative-minded) in Hours #6 and #7, when Grape Nehi picked up 13 points in two hours. By 1990’s point standards, this is more like a 20-point swing today.
Giga would end their run of contests as the Boston Red Sox of Williams Trivia-- always close, sometimes painfully so (see above), but never finishing higher than 2nd.
The very next semester, however, the team would change its roster slightly and become Phasers on Stun. Phasers would avenge the memory of Giga by winning it all in their "debut" contest, then again two years later. Continuing to play for seven more years, Phasers on Stun became the flagship team of 1980's Williams Trivia.
