NOTES:
Yep, it's THOSE Manhattan Skyliners!
The eighth-place team, The Grand Duchy of Fenwick, were the wilting descendants of the Grand Fenwick team that had won and run the contest in 1970-71.
In an effort to stave off the BOMO win, 2nd- and 3rd-place teams The General and Bee Bumble and the Stingers joined forces in the contest's final hour, and did manage to eradicate 33% of the General's deficit. They apparently liked the match, for as "General Bumble," they would win the next contest, and then the Winter 1975 one.
Gene Falk's "General" teams apparently made a happy habit of cross-pollination, as General Bumble's 1976 merger with the "Morgasm" team produced the contest-winning "General Morgasm" amalgamation a semester later.
This was but the first of three BOMO wins between 1973 and 1978, and teams with former BOMOs would win a couple more in 1979 and 1980. Small wonder that some other players of the time thought that battling BOMO was like playing against U.S. Steel.
