Unfortunately, this only applies to like two-thirds of you but hope you enjoy. Seniors, Amanda, and Afoma: refer to the other score for your red parts for now, I can work with you one-on-one and prolly it'll get a lot easier as we move to off-book. I can also try to make individualized scores but this took like 2 hours so I'm gonna hold off for now. Let me know what questions you have, there prolly will be some and that's great, excited to hear what we do with this! Thanks guys, love you. xoxo, Ari -- Ari Ball-Burack Williams College '19 arb7 at williams.edu -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Today the plan is to read and do some work on Friends in Low Places as well as spend 10-15 minutes working on Everglow (please take a look at the new version Ari sent out before rehearsal if you can: we don't have time to spend learning notes or rhythms for Everglow today). We'll conclude by running YDB/Thunder and What I Need. As part of the warmup today, I'd like to try working on some chord progressions. I will bring sheet music for us to look at for these warmups to expedite the process of learning these exercises. I think this will be a good way to work on intonation and balance in a very practical way - using the same chord progressions, vowels, and/or voicings as the ones in our music. Let's see how this goes! Looking forward to seeing you all later today! S -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... We'll continue to work on the one in Everglow next rehearsal. If you're still feeling shaky on bell chords in Friends in Low Places or if you missed rehearsal yesterday, see if you can find some time to take a look at those before tomorrow! Can the people who printed Friends in Low Places and Everglow bring the leftover extra copies tomorrow? So if you don't have a copy of one of those, you can get it tomorrow. Plan for tomorrow: work on Ty's senior solo (I'll hopefully have something in decent shape). If that "hopefully" goes to shit, well, we'll see what happens. We'll also work on the bell chord and other parts of Everglow, and finish by running Everglow and YDB/Thunder. Since we haven't had physical music for long, I just thought I would give a onetime reminder to bring folders and pencils. Looking forward to seeing you all for what is sure to be the best part of my day! S -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I'm also realizing that that's not super helpful given that the original is a whole step higher and I haven't offered much further guidance. So, I transposed an mp3 down a step (forgive Chris Martin's hilarious hulky voice) and here are some timestamps of tricky areas: 0:26, 2:14, 2:20, etc. ? senior red part (it's one voice in the recording but gives a sense of timing) 1:42 ? tough bell chord (also at 2:59) ? the timing and notes are identical! 2:40 ? tough sop riff ? note the timing, it comes early 3:38 ? BRIDGE ? some notes: - Afoma's and Hallie's red parts mimic the cello (?) right at 3:38 - Caley and Grace come in with "I miss you..." at 3:42 - Rainer and Ty come in with "I met..." right on 3:44 - Amanda mimics the piano run (same as at 2:40) at 3:49, then... - Amanda's red part is the high instrument (a wind something?) at 3:51 4:10 ? the instrumental part at the end, give a listen for the different moving parts and how they work together Hopefully this is helpful for doing work on your own time, and also now you can "graduate" from practicing with the musescore to practicing with this, whee. Thanks so much guys, this is sounding really good, just thought I'd send this along.
