Hi everyone!
While most of us are thinking about our plans for Thanksgiving break this
week, I want to ask you to think ahead with me to spring break. Each year,
the Chaplains Office has run an interfaith Break Out Trip to Tuscaloosa,
Alabama, in which we explore racial and economic injustice, learn about the
history of the Civil Rights movement, build homes with Habitat for
Humanity, and take part in important interfaith dialogues. Previous
participants on the trip have spoken about how influential their time on
the trip was to their Williams education. (Visit the CLiA BOT
<https://learning-in-action.williams.edu/opportunities/bot/2019-trip-summaries/>
page
and scroll down for more info about the trip.)
This year, we are planning on offering the trip during the second week of
spring break (March 23-30, 2019). Unfortunately, the deadline to register
for the trip through CLiA has already passed. However, another round of
applications may open in the next couple of weeks. If you are interested in
this trip, please fill out this application
<https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7YwvIfjTRtCRUJRY0g2UUNiZzluMVRrbWh3bmJQcjRCQWRv/view?usp=sharing>
and
send it to Rev Valerie (vb7) or Father Gary (gcc1) by *Tuesday, November 27*.
The proposed application will help us gauge interest in this trip. Filling
out the application does not a guarantee a spot on the trip, but it will
help us know if we have enough participants in order to run the trip this
year.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at
smw4. I hope you'll consider coming on the trip!
