Project Mission

Discussion Topics

First Discussion Topic

The Gargoyle Society would like to invite you to participate in our first ever "Gargoyle Conversations" event, aimed at inspiring conversation about controversial and important issues both in the world and at Williams. The event will take place this Thursday, January 15, at 8:00 pm in the Log. Light food and drink will be served. We will be discussing "The legitimacy of Israel's campaign against Hamas in Gaza." The Williams students who attend the event will be broken up into small groups of ten. The conversation should last about an hour. We would love to have you.

Second Discussion Topic

The Gargoyle Society would like to invite you to participate in our second "Gargoyle Conversations" event, aimed at inspiring conversation about controversial and important issues both in the world and at Williams. The event will take place this Thursday, March 5, at 8:00 pm in the Log. Light food and drink will be served.

We will be exploring the question of whether unhappiness is acceptable at Williams. Is there something particular about our College that makes it difficult for students to express their displeasure? Does our campus culture silence those who feel alienated? If so, how do we approach a solution?

The students who attend the event will be broken up into smaller groups with a faculty/staff member facilitating discussion. The conversation should last about an hour. We would love to have you.
