The Williams College Law Society was founded on January 2, 2010 by Dan Zhao and Emanuel McMiller on a Peter Pan Bus as they returned from New York City back to campus at the end of Winter Break. Their goal was to create an organization that brought students interested in law together, and provided a support system for them in terms of providing an avenue to express their interest in law and involve themselves in related activities that may not be available to them prior to The Society.
The Society seeks to promote a familiarity and understanding of the law and the legal profession among students. Members will have an opportunity to learn about the field of law and the career options it provides and understand the legal framework in which the world operates. Our mission is to bring together students at Williams College who are interested in law and allow them to express their interest in a productive way that benefits them, the College, the Society, the community, and the field of law. We have several programs including a Mock Trial team, a Moot Court team, a Law Journal. We also have various speakers from the Williams community and the legal profession. Our meetings are on Wednesdays at 8pm in Paresky 220.
We are a very new club but we hope to begin many exciting projects and programs in the coming semester. If you have any ideas, comments, questions, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
