The CUPPS cup given to '05 freshman during First Days 2001.

n. A CUPPS cup is a plastic thermos, one of which is given to each Williams freshman during first days to discourage use of disposable cups. Use of the CUPPS cup is welcomed at dining halls, local coffee shops, and many progressive establishments around the country, some of which even give a small discount for their use. CUPPS is pronounced identical to "cups" and stands for "can't use paper, plastic, or styrofoam."

There is a yearly contest among students to design next year's Williams CUPPS cup.

Not to be confused with CUPS, the Common UNIX Printing System that was recently adopted by OIT for campus printing.
