Laszlo Versenyi

Laszlo Versenyi, born April 3, 1928 in Baja, Hungary, joined the Williams faculty in 1958 and was the Mark Hopkins Professor of Philosophy from 1983 until his death in 1988. Author of four books (Socratic Humanism (1963), Heidegger, Being, and Truth (1965), Man's Measure (1973), and Holiness and Justice (1982)), Versenyi was chair of the Ancient and Medieval Studies program. His tombstone is in the College Cemetery.
