'''root''' is traditionally the super-user or administrator account name on many servers. It is also the status accorded to WSO's the administratorsof [[Williams Students Online]]. WSO has 4-7 roots at a time, and the position is given to members of WSO who have contributed substantially to WSO and who have demonstrated technical expertise, good judgment, and organizational loyalty. They are semi-annualy chosen by current roots. It is a position that lasts as long as that student is enrolled at the College. Current roots are:
