The formation of the Williams College Students of Caribbean Ancestry (SoCA) was spear-headed more than ten years ago by Frank Rosado '96 and other Caribbean affiliated students in the class of '95 and '96. In its first active years on the Williams campus, Students of Caribbean Ancestry passed a number of important milestones. From creating a constitution , participating in the annual North East Regional Caribbean Students Conference, hosting its first ever Caribbean Heritage weekend (Spring, 1996) and a subsequent Caribbean week the following year, SoCA has continued making strides towards sponsoring events that have educated, entertained and otherwise satisfied its continually increasing membership.

SoCA has over 40 members and an increasing alumni network. Our membership has roots in nearly all the Caribbean, including Anguilla, Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Montserrat, Trinidad & Tobago and the Virgin Islands. Additionally, several of our members come to us from as diverse places as Hungary, Ghana, Kenya and Virginia (USA).

SoCA has an office on the first floor of Rice House (Black Student Union). The group holds its weekly meetings in Greylock Room A at 6:00pm on Wednesdays.
