Talk:Form 990

Revision as of 00:18, April 26, 2006 by 05jl (talk | contribs) (why I deleted the table. added DK's signature)

This is the discussion page for "Form 990". This page is where editors and readers discuss what content should and should not be in the article, and respond to others' questions and comments. Unlike articles' content pages, editors should only add material and respond to others' postings, and never make deletions. This page is intended to record the history of any debate, as well as work towards resolving it.

All commenters here should take credit for their words. When you make a change, suffix your posting with --~~~~ This will automatically record your username and the time of posting. Doing this helps seperate comments, and is consistent with Wikipedia guidelines.

Why remove the table of the salary of the President? My plan is to add other information from these forms so that people do not need to dig through them to find out things like revenue and spending trends. Unless someone objects, I will revert.--User:Dkane

I am the editor who made the removal. In the form it came, I felt it spotlighted a section of the Form 990 that, in the context of an article on "Form 990," ie. the whole thing, was arbitrary to spotlight. Worse than arbitrary, it, to me, seemed like the intent of the article was to present not just the data in that table, but the trend -- in other words, that an argument was being made on a page with a title that does not at all hint at an argument.

I'm glad to hear that other analysis is to follow. In that context, an analysis of Morty's salary may be more appropriate. I'd like to see all such analyses in sections -- not flowing right from the preface -- and any major digressions from the topic "Form 990" ought to be written up in a seperate article, perhaps.

I hope other editors will weigh in, as I am the original editor, and Kane the original writer, and neither of our votes should carry the day.--Jonathan 00:18, 26 April 2006 (EDT)
